What is a domain name?
Locations of the Internet are actually identified
by IP addresses. IP addresses look like 212.90.33.10 and as
you can imagine can be hard to remember. Basically, domain
names attach themselves to these numbers so that you can easily
remember the site you want to visit.
Why do I need a domain name?
Today, domain names are considered essential to mark
your Internet presence. Using an obvious domain name, if available,
makes it easier for your potential customers to find you.
What type of domain name should I go for?
This is up to you. It is advisable to go for any
domain names that are available to avoid any possible conflicts
in the future as these can prove costly and time consuming.
However, consider the area you trade in or the market you
want to reach. ".com" domain names, are the most
popular in the world and are considered to be international,
where as ".co.uk" could mean a business in the UK,
trading only in the UK.
The domain name I want is taken!
Sorry, domain names are registered on a first come,
first served basis. It's best to try again, using hyphens
where possible or an alternative type of domain name (".uk.com"
instead of ".co.uk" for example).
How long do you register domain names for?
Domain names registered through us are registered
for a two year period.
